Rhino 4 Evaluation Patch

Future doc.

The documentation does it have a future?

a time when the tools are perfected and provide interfaces always easier to use, what role for information professionals and documentation? Also, the documentation does it have a future?

1) Simple tools ... Appearance!
The tools for information management offer simpler interfaces always to a maximum of users can use these tools without training. However, these powerful tools are not used to fair performance. Indeed, in many cases users do not use as basic functions and never come in configurations called "advanced". With good reason they do not understand it! So, how useful provide high-performance tools to an audience that uses only a small part of their performance?

2) The professional in information services: a trainer
The primary role of professional information-documentation is therefore to educate users and potential users. It amounts in effect to discover the usefulness and power of the advanced features of these tools. Also, he must learn for those users to choose the most efficient tool and not confined to what they know. Fear of the unknown that is more pervasive in the information and documentation; rightly since it is quick to get lost and wasting time. Finally it is to training tools and tools that any information professional documentation, which it is, where he works, must be done. It is the work efficiency of each!

3) The fantasy of self
User says independent, at least wants to own. This is also why it tends to, like the training that he has taught college, high school, in higher education and more so in his work. However, this autonomy "acquired" is only an illusion, a fantasy I said. Indeed, how to enjoy a real autonomy when we do not know the variety of tools, when we do not know rather than choose such as when one does not use all the features of these tools? Yes the user can be independent. But a self-cons-productive. Is this the price to pay: a user self-cons but productive. This autonomy is therefore an illusion, a fantasy for the user. While autonomy is an ideal. But a utopian ideal. Knowledge of tools and their diversity is more than ever a skill only acquired through a long learning "basic", a common practice, especially continuing education. The information professions and the documentation does not therefore find it not there legitimacy?

4) And tomorrow? Tomorrow
tools will be increasingly efficient, ever more diverse. The information pollution will poison all the information and communication networks. Professionals in the information and documentation will then more than ever as a mediator of information, trainer information, and especially of "écolinformationologue" ... I'll tell you about in another post:)

Certainly the tools are always easier to use but a sub-use thereof. While ownership of these tools is facilitated, but the ignorance of their diversity and their specific causes misuse. In short, without professional information and documentation, users retreat into a semblance of autonomy, will think himself so powerful that it is cons-productive. In short, hell would be required informational generating economic and social catastrophes unprecedented! Beginning of a Hollywood script? But the reality we face. Believe in the usefulness of professional and above all, recognize their role!
